Gorgeous Hoi An

The warm yellows and brown wooden buildings, the colourful lanterns and the lush flowers and trees; I can see why so many people love Hoi An.

Our train arrived at 6am and transferred to the hotel, checked in and dropped our luggage.  Then a short walk to explore the old town and eat breakfast- chicken pho and coffee.

After that we shopped - a new large suitcase to hold all our purchases plus a couple of backpacks, checked out the tailors and then headed back to relax by the pool. Lunch was banh mi and local beer - we sent James out whilst we stayed poolside.

We headed into town for dinner.  We headed to Morning Glory to eat Cao Lau (pork & noodles with fresh herbs) & Banh Bao Vac (White Rose Dumplings - rice dumplings in vinegar dressing with crispy shallots).

Hoi An was so full of people and colour.  Today was the full moon festival so there were boats with lanterns offering rides and women selling candles in boxes to light and float down.
